The posts began at 10am yesterday when she posted: "where all the boors lay sound and still, and all the pains you've tried to kill; when you have said goodbye to grace, then you are in the perfect place."

This led fans to speculate that the singer would be releasing a music video for her Perfect Places single.

She then tweeted a picture of herself wearing a conical hat holding a machete in a field with the caption "THURSDAY" above it.

After a fan asked if that was Thursday New Zealand time the singer quickly replied with: "FRIDAY 8am NZ / THURSDAY 4pm EASTERN."

The series of tweets mean it will be a sleepless night Thursday for her many Kiwi fans.

She's also released a new song called Sober as she gears up for a world tour that begins in Manchester in September.
