Kiwi director Taika Waititi has received praise and an informal job offer by Star Wars franchise president Kathleen Kennedy.
During an interview with Newshub, Ms Kennedy said she thought the Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Thor director has "exactly the right sensibility".
"I would love for him to direct a Star Was movie," she said.
The interviewer asked if it was a job offer, to which Ms Kennedy said: "Yeah".
The latest Star Wars movie comes to screens in New Zealand on December 14.
