Kiwi music legend Jenny Morris welcomed into the NZ Music Hall of Fame by Jacinda Ardern

The Prime Minister gave a glowing introduction for the Kiwi music legend.

Kiwi music legend Jenny Morris has been inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame at the 2018 APRA Silver Scroll Awards in Auckland tonight.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern gave a glowing introduction for Jenny, before a short documentary played showcasing her illustrious career.

The singer fronted two bands here before enjoying success across the Tasman.

Jenny shot to fame in 1987 with the release of her debut solo album Body and Soul.

She enjoyed more success in 1991, with her album Honeychild that featured the smash hit Break in the Weather.

In 2013, Jenny became the first female chair of APRA AMCOS - a position she still holds, representing songwriters across Australasia and advocating on their behalf.

A health condition, which affects her voice, saw Jenny hold her last performance at Sydney’s Taronga Park Zoo in 2015.
