"Couple of baby Kiwis very far from home" – Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player Steven Adams has met up with Kiwi songstress Lorde at one of her concerts in the United States.

The two high-flying New Zealanders far from the shores of Aotearoa, but it was Lorde who was the visitor, playing her show in Adams' adopted city Oklahoma.

Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, is in the midst of the American stretch of her Melodrama World Tour.

The 21-year-old star took to Instagram to share a series of photos of her and Adams, as well as members of her band.

"Thanks for coming to the show old mate!" she wrote, followed by a kiwifruit emoji.

One photo shows Lorde jumping up to try and match Adams' 2.13 metre frame.

Her world tour, following the release of Grammy-nominated album Melodrama, wraps up in Indonesia in July.
