'I'm a bit bruised and broken' – injured Ed Sheeran says tour cancellations in the hands of management

October 19, 2017

British singer Ed Sheeran is leaving tour cancellations in the hands of his management team following a bike accident that's left him with numerous fractured bones.

The star confirmed yesterday to fans via Instagram that he will cancel his upcoming Asia shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong due fractures in his right wrist and left elbow.

"I'm fine, I mean I'm a bit bruised and broken but I'm fine," he said while walking the red carpet at the annual Q awards overnight.

When asked about the tour dates that have since been cancelled, Sheeran said, "That's kind of up to management in Asia. I'm sort of staying out of that one."

"I'm waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that," read an Instagram post written on behalf of Sheeran.

It is unknown if his six New Zealand shows in March will be affected.
