The New Zealand film Hunt for the Wilderpeople has received massive praise, taking out the number one spot in a popular UK cinema magazine for the best film of the year.
Taika Waititi's Kiwi comedy was rated the best in the Empire magazine's list of its top 25 movies in 2016, ousting Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight which was placed sixth on the list.
"It's a small, charming, utterly delightful film, from a tiny island on the other side of the world, and it deserves to take the world by storm," wrote Empire.
"We'd call it 'majestical', but as Ricky insists, that's not a word, so we'll have to settle for calling it the best film of 2016."
The film is the highest grossing local movie in New Zealand.
