'Don't be late' - PM Bill English gets his own back at Paula Bennett with cheeky snap at the darts

Prime Minister Bill English took a break from the election campaign trail for a less-turbulent night out at the Auckland Darts Masters, and managed to get his own back at his deputy leader Paula Bennett while he was there.

Earlier this year, Ms Bennett posted a video of Mr English at the July 9 rugby final between the All Blacks and the British and Irish Lions.

He was caught bopping to RUN-D.M.C's It's Like That which blasted through Eden Park's speaker system during the game.

Ms Bennett posted the video to her Facebook page with the caption: "Our PM having a moment at the game" and it was viewed thousands of times.

Mr English finally retaliated last night, posting a photo of the pair on Facebook grinning at the darts, except Ms Bennett is holding up a sign saying, "Sorry Boss, I'm sick tomorrow".

"See you in cabinet tomorrow Paula Bennett," Mr English captioned the post.

"Don't be late!"
