Disney reveals first official photo of Millennium Falcon at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

December 10, 2018

Disney has released the first official image of a finished full-scale replica of the Millennium Falcon at Disneyland's upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction.

The detailed replica will house an advanced ride at the California theme park, where guests will pilot the iconic falcon with other riders.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is due to open in the US summer of 2019. The new area is said to be an "immersive" experience that takes guests to a far-flung outpost in the Star Wars universe.

The Millennium Falcon ride will be the centrepiece of the area and will be able to cycle through 1800 guests an hour when operating at full capacity.

Riders will be seated in replica cockpits of the falcon, taking on various roles, such as pilot and gunner.

Each ride will be different and rider's performance piloting the ship will affect their experience once back in Galaxy's Edge.

The ride is also being built at Disney World in Florida.
