Catch up with Ronan Keating and Boyzone ahead of their first and last New Zealand gigs

November 30, 2018

1 NEWS Europe Correspondent Joy Reid spoke with the band ahead of their April 2019 gigs Down Under.

Irish boy band Boyzone are coming to New Zealand in April for the first time, which will also be their last.

That's because they're breaking up after the tour which celebrates their 25th anniversary.

Put together in 1993, Boyzone are one of the most successful bands in Ireland and the UK and have sold more than 25 million records worldwide.

Their fifth band member, Stephen Gately, died nine years ago of a heart condition, and an album, which they've just released, pays special tribute to him.

1 NEWS Europe Correspondent Joy Reid met Ronan Keating and the boys ahead of their farewell tour, giving them a taste of the Kiwi accent, which they found highly amusing in their interview for TVNZ1's Seven Sharp.

Boyzone will be performing in Auckland on April 9 and the next night in Wellington.

Tickets are now on sale and Seven Sharp has two double passes to give away. Check out the show's Facebook page for details.
