Aussie actress Rebel Wilson the latest celebrity to come forward with film industry sexual assault allegations

November 13, 2017

Australian actress Rebel Wilson is the latest celebrity to come forward and reveal experiences of sexual harassment in Hollywood but hasn't exposed the name of the actor and top director who were allegedly behind the incidents.

The Pitch Perfect star, who is currently filming a new comedy overseas, went on a Twitter tirade over the weekend, stating that it has been "hard to hear all these stories relating to sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood" and then stated she has her own story to tell.

The first allegation is against a "male star" who asked her to perform a sexual act on him while his friends "tried to film the incident on their iPhones and laughed".

"I repeatedly said no and eventually got out of the room," Wilson said.

"I called my agent immediately and my lawyer made a complaint with the studio - basically to protect myself that in the event something similar ever occurred I'd be able to walk out of the job and not obliged to return.

"Later I was threatened by one of the star's representatives to be nice and support the male star. I refused. The whole thing was disgusting."

Since the incident, Wilson said she has told numerous people within the industry about the story to warn them off the male star.

Earlier in her career, she said she had a "hotel encounter with a top director".

"I thought we were there to talk comedy. Nothing physical happened because the guy's wife called and started abusing him over the phone for sleeping with actresses and luckily she was yelling so loud that I could hear her and I bolted out of there immediately.

"I was so naive the thought of anything happening apart from 'work talk' didn't even cross my mind," she tweeted.

Her tweets come in the midst of several allegations that have been made against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and US comedian Louis C.K, as well as Kevin Spacey.
