Mongrel Mob members arrive at Hamilton mosque in solidarity with Muslim community

Members of the Mongrel Mob have, as promised, arrived at Hamilton mosque for Friday prayers.

The gang vowed to protect the Muslim community in the wake of last Friday’s terrorist attack that left 50 dead in Christchurch.

Sonny Fatu, president of Waikato Mongrel Mob – the country’s largest chapter – says they want to show their solidarity and support for the Muslim community.

“We have Muslim brothers and sisters within our organisation, we have family members who are Muslims," he said.

“We are concerned about their wellbeing."

It comes as New Zealand remembers the victims, a week on from the tragedy.
