One person dead after getting into difficulty at Kerikeri waterfall

One person is dead after getting into difficulty at a Kerikeri waterfall in Northland.

Police say they were called to the scene at Rainbow Falls around 2:10pm this afternoon.

Initial reports from police say the person got into difficulty while swimming.

They were pulled from the water, however they were unable to be revived.

The death will be referred to the Coroner.
