Intense blaze rips through South Auckland car yard

A fire has ripped through a car yard in South Auckland this morning.

Fire and Emergency NZ crews were called to the fire on Great South Rd, Drury just before 7am.

Smoke was clearly visible from the Southern Motorway.

Fire and Emergency NZ says no people were inside the building at the time and there's no concern to neighbouring properties.

Earlier Great South Rd in Drury, between Parkhaven Drive and Sutton Road was closed. It has now reopened.
